I think it is time we threw away the concept that democracy is the best.
Look at Obama the socialist and anti-immigrant law makers in this country who are playing to the gallery. Are they doing any good for this country ?
I always prefer an open self nominated leader to a democratically elected leader.
OP should work with IV core/even get involved in a serious conversation with core team to promote his ideas. I am sure core is open to suggestions and entertain discussions from well meaning members.

I am a new member and sent $50 by personal check to IV.
EAD
PD: May 04 (BEC cleared Nov 06)
I-140: Jan 07 (Pending NSC)
I-485: Aug 07 ( No reciepts)
I have sent 50$ to IV through Bill Pay. I have also started a funding drive in my office locally. There are about 20 people in this situation. Lets see if any one contributes.
This is the email i wrote:
Folks, I just wanted to add to this email. As this email mentioned, IV is organizing a monumental rally in Washington DC. The estimated turn out for this rally is about 10,000 people. This is our best shot ever. With the successful flower campaign and the San Jose rally we were able to reverse the July bulletin.
I urge you to consider contributing one months grocery bill towards this cause. Immigrants are flying in from all over the country. People who cannot attend are sponsoring air tickets and providing accommodation for strangers flying in. The least we can do is contribute a few bucks.
Please make a contribution to IV. You can send in a check or a use google check out or use paypal. We pay thousands in taxes without representation. Donate a fraction of that amount today. Even if you dont want to donate, go to the website and buy some IV merchandise, Cups, hats and t shirts.
Im going to be mailing a check today, I will be glad to include your check.
Go IV.

Does anyone communicate with the "Core Team" and get updates ? Could somebody explain how IV works?

You must be a permanent resident to open or own an S-Corp. An LLC is the best way to go and if you are not engaged in actual sale of goods, you can register this LLC in Nevada and pay no corporate taxes. I've done it. All income then passes through your own filing. Have a CPA and I strongly recommend you do this. Registering a NV LLC only costs $195 annually. Go to incorpservices.com and it will walk you through.

anyone wants to guess as to when EB3(I) will reach 2003 Dec. I know it is long long time away but it has to reach that date some time in the future.
Going by what has happened this year, assuming no legislation relief in the near future, dates are NOT going to move forward for EB3 for a very long time. The movement would be slow for EB2 I as well.
Reason, USCIS would have more resources (available) starting next FY and also if they were able to use up all VISA numbers in a FY when they had to handle several hundred thousands of EAD/AP besides naturalization cases, starting next year it is going to be an easy bet for them. So, the dates would move forward very slowly (with all the new I140 approvals coming in).
However, if there was any legislation relief, then it would be a different ball game altogether. May be we will see a repeat of 2002-2004 when all categories were current.

I think you bring up very valid points. For a lot of ppl who have stayed away from family/extended family for so long, they may not like the constant interference.
"I miss my parents" is not quantifiable but what about the paying back the debt by supporting your aging parents? Let me make the question a little broader, isn't every immigrant divided between doing what's best for the children and supporting the parents?
I dont think one is necessarily doing kids a dis-service by electing to go back. On the contrary, kids experience tremendous personal growth through interaction with extended family which is not possible in a foreign land.

And the situation prior to surge wasnt any better either. I remember in 2006, the PD for India EB3 was April 2001 and now its Nov 2001.
This was directed to people who were current. If you are from India, China, Mexico, Philippines, get used to waiting. Your backlog is due to numerical limits. And this won't change (the way I see it)
