What is this Receipt date? Is it the date when your AOS petition reaches USCIS?
Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.

Hello All,
NSC --> EB2 I Oct 2006 -->485 June 2007 filer --> LUD on mine 03/03/2009 --LUD and RFE on my wifes 03/04/2009 (RFE email from USCIS says: Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent not sure what it evidence they need, recently we have made name change amendment on EAD for my wife, I am assuming it should be related to that, will wait and see till we can hard copy of RFE)

I was hoping to get a 2 year EAD, but I am wrong now. Make the VB current, issue 1 year EAD and then retrogress. What a brain!!!

Keep the cool. USCIS is very unpredictable as we all have seen. Get ready to see the dates move forward pretty quickly this year! There are more chances to have increased visa numbers and things can only go UP from here on.

Hi ,
We applied I-485 in july and still waiting for receipt number. Also My wifes H4 visa expires on July 30 and her I-539 is pending. Can we use GC pending status to get driving license by showing the EAC receipt number ???

I am aware of the recent revisions to the State Department immigration bulletin, and I am concerned about how these change s will impact the many individuals who have based their immigration plans on information from past bulletins, which stated that certain employment- based categories were current. Please be assured that I will continue to monitor the Department of State's response to this issue, and I will be in touch with relevant officials to express my concerns about this unfortunate situation . For that only I am telling we need to teach a lesson. Take them once to court, and if we can get the judement once in our favour it will nail the coffin. If we lose, some one else try again in different court.
Trust me. I am ready for Writ of Mandamus. But before filing it, I have to exhaust all the administrative procedures to make the case stronger in front of the Judge.
I have posted a link on murthy but no responses till now. Not even a single attorney responded.

Update. My attorney has sent a letter (interfiling process) to USCIS mentioning that my case is current now. One of my friends got 485 approved within 2 weeks after initiating interfiling process. I hope it would be the same case with me.

I bought a home recently in PA. All I showed are I485 receipt, expired visa on passport,employment and other proof of income . They never asked me the EAD. Loan is through BOA. Most of the immigrants maintain good credit scores so there is good chance of getting loans approved.

I want everybody to get their GCs. but now interfiling/porting is hurting out position in the queue.
If you are not aware, a good bunch of EB3s are now trying to interfile & port their PDs which are between 2001 - 2005 to EB2.
This will potentially put tens of thousands of people in the EB2 queue before most people in EB2 who are waiting.
These people were not eligible for EB2 when they filed their own labor.. so they should NOT BE ALLOWED TO PORT THEIR OLD PDs. Sure EB3 can Interfile .. but you will get a new PD ... the date you interfile.
If we just keep looking... there will be a huge retrogression in EB2. And its not like these EB3 people will get through with the interfiling/porting. Most of them will be issued RFEs. Their labor apps will be audited and their primary EB3 apps will be cancelled. Infact, 85% of interfiling will never successfully make it through. And its not like it will help the EB3 brothers. That queue will still be long... because they are not going to withdraw their EB3 apps.
Also, while they will not succeed in interfiling/porting, they still will have their apps with USCIS and USCIS will sit on them before eventually issuing NOID. Sad part is they will count these when giving numbers to DOS for setting visa bulletins.
This PD porting is the last "not so ethical & legal" thing after labor substitution.. that we need to Put a cork on.
If we don't act now... then we can all expect to stay in AOS for the next 5 years. This holds for both EB2 and EB3.

But anything that threatens my position in the queue is not acceptable.

And if you are, keep your loud mouth shut! Before you pontificate, look at people and others like you who got in and created a mess!
